Is there insurance cover for any damages done by the cleaner?

Clients property is covered by our comprehensive public liability insurance policy, a copy of which is available on request. It covers for major damages over £100 (e.g. damages to carpets or any objects) but it does not cover bleach spills as all of our cleaners are discouraged from using this product.

Are there any restrictions placed on the cleaner, with regards to what they will clean?

Yes.  Our cleaners will not carry out any deep or specialised cleaning of antiques, delicate or valuable items, nor will they carry out exterior window cleaning unless it is on the ground floor.

What happens if I am dissatisfied with the service provided by the cleaner?

We are confident that this will not happen, but should problems arise we will make every effort to find a replacement cleaner as soon as possible, normally within 5 working days.

Who is responsible for providing the cleaning equipment and products?

Clients are expected to provide cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, iron and cleaning materials; alternatively, as strong advocates of environmentally-friendly cleaning products,we can supply natural homemade cleaning materials. The hourly charge for cleaning is £9.00 and £10.00 with cleaning products provided. If you require a one-off cleaning service then DS Cleaning will provide all cleaning materials and equipments required.

We rely on our clients to inform us of holidays, illness, etc so that we can amend your account accordingly and rearrange cleaning schedules. We also endeavor to keep our clients up-to-date with staff schedules.

Who pays the cleaner, you or I?
faq

You do. Our regular clients pay their cleaner £6.50 per hour on the day of work. The remaining £2.50 (or £3.50 if environmentally cleaning products are provided) is DS Cleaning’s agency fee, paid in advance at the beginning of each month. Should you require our one-off cleaning service, different rates will apply.

How do you select, vet and ensure quality of your cleaners?

We receive around a hundred calls from prospective cleaners every week in response to our advertisements and all applicants are interviewed at our office to ensure their suitability. Any cleaners accepted onto our books are required to provide us with verifiable proof of identification (passport/full UK driving license), proof of address (utility bills or bank statement), immigration status (valid visa + work permit) and proof of experience and reliability (minimum of 2 references from previous employers or clients). We also assess levels of English, spoken and written, test on common cleaning tasks and give all new applicants in-house training thus ensuring all our requirements and standards are met. Our clients’ happiness is paramount, therefore our screening process is thorough and only the best get through successfully.

How long will it take you to find me a cleaner?

We aim to provide clients with a suitable cleaner within 5 working days.  Sometimes it may take a little longer, but DS Cleaning will always discuss the options with you.
